We all go through different phases during the course of our careers. First, there is that sense of excitement and motivation when we first start our careers.

However, there are some signs you can pay attention to in that would give you an idea if you have found the right job or career.

This is based more on subjective rather than objective observations bit sometimes the signs are so clear that it makes it easy to determine if this is the case.

First Sign

Your current job creates a sense of excitement, eagerness and motivation when you perform your daily tasks and this is the case most of the time.

Even having to work through a long list of things to do does not dampen your enthusiasm and you find yourself looking forward to the next day.

In this particular work environment, you welcome and enjoy the challenges that come your way and this excitement becomes a driving force that propels you to perform better and get the desired results.

Also, you often find that that you become absorbed in the work you do and you frequently experience a sense of fulfilment in carrying out your work.

Second Sign

You don’t have any issues with taking initiative and tackling challenges as they arise.

You are also able to freely trust your instincts. This gives you the confidence to perform well on the job and feel happy about the results you achieve.

Over time you find you are able to trust your instincts more and have more confidence in your abilities.

Even if other jobs offer those perks that might seem irresistible such as proximity to transportation or other added bonuses, it is not an option for you to consider leaving your current position because it does not interest you.

If this practice does not appeal to you, then you might be working in your ideal job or career.

Fifth Sign

You are more focused on taking advantage of your strengths and not your weaknesses.

If you are in the right job you will want to keep getting results in the areas in which you are more productive rather than striving to improve in the areas of your weakness as most people do.

Focusing more on what you’re good at will serve as a motivation and drive for you to achieve more in your career.

This is a better outcome when compared to struggling to perform in the areas of your weakness.

Sixth Sign

Following from the point above, when you are working in the right job, you have no problem with constantly wanting to push yourself to develop in your career.

You will be proactive in seeking out ways to achieve this by taking part in training and other skills development practices.

There might also be opportunities to develop offered by your employer and you will be willing to take up such opportunities because of your determination to take charge of your own growth.

Seventh Sign

You find it easy to identify with your work and you can find a sense of purpose in this career.

One of the ways this can be seen is that you are even willing to accept a lower salary for this job.

This is because you identify with the social impact of your job and you can demonstrate a sense of dedication and loyalty to your work.

In fact, millennials and the younger generation and more likely to take this approach to their career.

In this case, the value internal job satisfaction above external material rewards that can be gained on the job.
