  1. Develop A Consistent Morning Routine

It is important to have some kind of order in your day for you to become more productive.

How do you go about this? You need to learn to break down tasks into steps, then have a schedule to carry out these steps throughout the day.

What happens is that with a daily schedule, you don’t have to waste time during the day on deciding what to do. Trying to figure things out eats into the time you could be used for more productive activities.

  1. Develop A Consistent Bedtime Routine

Having a consistent bedtime routine is a great way to start the day on a healthy note.

The key here is not only about having a bedtime routine but actually abiding by it.

An example of a bedtime routine could be having a shower then preparing lunch for the next day then spend about 30 minutes in bed doing something that relaxes you such as reading a book before sleeping.

  1. Rearrange Your Bedroom For A Better Night’s Sleep

Being stressed or busy can affect your sleep at night even if you have a good bedtime routine in place.

Creating a bedroom space that makes you feel good it worth trying out.

You can do things such as making your bed in the morning, putting your clothes away and making sure your bedroom is free from clutter.

  1. Find A Midday Activity That Is Energising And Good For You

As important as it is to pay attention to your morning and evening routine, in the same way, it is important to have an activity that will help you overcome those midday blues.

Some good midday activity ideas are stretching, drinking water, reading for pleasure and binge reading your emails for about 15 minutes.

  1. Make Your Lunch And Dinner

There is a great benefit to forming a habit of making your own lunch and dinner. You not only have more control over what you eat, but it is also a cheaper option.

You also get the opportunity to learn new cooking skills and experiment more with what you eat.

These days, it is easy to find recipes for healthy lunches and dinners as well as quick and easy office lunch ideas by searching on Google.

  1. Eat Away From Your Desk

Taking a break from work should not only happen after you finish work. Make the most of your lunchtime during the day.

It is important to form this habit so you can achieve that work-life balance and take a step closer to living a healthy and well-balanced life.

  1. Watch A TED Talk

TED Talks are a great source of inspiration and motivation. They are influential videos from expert speakers from different walks of life.

You might just get that motivation that you need to become a better version of yourself and to fulfil that dream you’ve always had.

They last for about 20 minutes, which means you can easily fit watching them into your day, either while getting ready for work in the morning, during your lunch break or while waiting for an appointment.

  1. Listen To A Podcast

Similar to TED Talks, podcasts offer a great source of knowledge or information on diverse topics.

Rather than wasting time in front of the TV, listening to a podcast would be a better way of making use of your time.

You can get through a podcast or two during your commute to and from work depending on how long it is.

  1. Do Some Little Productive Tasks

Learn to set aside some little time – 3o minutes during the day to carry those small tasks that you have had in mind to do.

Being able to get rid of these reduces the need to multitask especially when you have to work on important tasks at work.

Ticking these little tasks off your to-do list simply makes life easier because you won’t have to keep worrying about getting them done and postponing doing it.

10. Get To Know Yourself

Life becomes so much easier if you take the time to get to know more about your strength and weaknesses. This way you can develop those strengths to become the best version of yourself.

A good way of finding out about yourself is to do a personality test. There are great free personality tests that you can take to get you started.

  1. Treat Yourself

It is important to take care of yourself so you can be in the best mental, emotional and physical state to achieve your goals.

Why not treat yourself to that relaxing massage or spa experience? You might be more interested in a game or movie that you have been wanting to play or watch.

You could also visit that cool lunch location that that just opened. You deserve to take care of yourself so you can achieve that work-life balance.

  1. Review Your Gaols

We all have goals that we set to achieve at some point. These could be new year resolutions of periodic goals.

Check to see how you are going with these goals. Have you been able to achieve some or all of them? Do you need to reassess and review them depending on whether they are still relevant?

Are there some that you need to take off the list? Don’t forget to reward yourself for those ones that you have been able to achieve along the way.

While going to the gym or doing exercise are obvious choices, there are other ways that you can “go outside”.
